Phase I and II Exterior
When the Clients bought this .6 acre parcel on Polawana Island (in addition to Johnny Island) they intended for Phase I (2004) to be designed and used as a Boat House (925 sf living/913 sf garage). The “Boat House” was an elevated wood framed structure on a pile foundation. After a few years they decided to make the original structure their home so expanding the boat house into a home ensued. Phase II design included a wing (1,025 sf) to house the master bedroom suite and secondary stair hall to the original garage apartment. Also included in this phase was configuring the existing boat house into a guest suite, reconfiguring the kitchen and living areas to be more efficient, and renovating porches.
